Lyons Garden Club announces results of chili contest
The Lyons Garden Club once again experienced big success in their annual Halloween Chili Cook-Off. Prior to the Lyons Halloween Parade, 28 mouthwatering pots of homemade chili were entered in the annual contest from local Lyons residents.

Mary, Mary, quite contrary How does your garden grow?
A multitude of people expressed enthusiastic approval of the gardens on display, and begged that the Garden Tours become an annual event. “The success of this garden tour went beyond our expectations. Such a wonderful community we live in.” This is a sampling of the 19 locations that were open to visitors.

Garden Club beautifying Lyons
The Lyons Garden Club, a non-profit volunteer organization, began in 2008 with three women drinking coffee at the Stone Cup and looking at two empty lots full of weeds. We decided to bring plants from our home gardens to these two areas to help beautify Lyons, one flower at a time.

DAFFODIL BONANZA
Just in case you were wondering what all those people were doing out on Highway 66/36 between McConnell Bridge and Black Bear Hole pedestrian bridge, on Sunday, October 4, the Lyons Garden Club was so successful with their first annual "Daffodil Drive" that they had enough money to purchase their goal of 1,000 daffodil bulbs.​

LYONS GARDEN CLUB "DAFFODIL DRIVE"
The Garden Club wants Lyons to be known for daffodils as well as great music, art and its beautiful red rock surroundings. It will provide a much needed burst of color in the spring as people drive through town. Daffodils are not only pretty and colorful; but they multiply quickly and are deer resistant.​
